Open Source Gallery’s HTBAF series continues in May with Erin Parsons.
Erin is a Real Estate Agent and Entrepreneur in Brooklyn. She spent fourteen years in event management, the restaurant industry, managing a local wine shop, and working in non-profit work with underserved youth. She is a proud alum of San Diego State where she studied International Security & Conflict Resolution and has completed designations in Event & Convention Management/Hospitality & Tourism programs through New York University and George Washington University.
Erin’s personal passions are as varied and intense as her business passions: she is an avid field hockey player, a book club founder, a cyclist, a dog fosterer, a community gardener, an adventurous traveler, a painter, and a kayaker. She is new to storytelling and the writing community, but is a big supporter of the arts, advocacy and having representation in all communities. She brings her sense of humor to overcome the challenges life throws at her and has many interesting stories to tell from her adventures.

About How to Build a Fire
The Puffin Cultural Forum is proud to present How to Build a Fire (HTBAF) a co-sponsored event between Open Source and The Puffin Foundation. Created over seven years ago, How to Build a Fire is a community storytelling series where a diverse group of individuals share real-life, personal narratives centered around a different theme each month. At times funny, at times sad, their stories weave together a broad illustration of the human experience. HTBAF takes place at Open Source Gallery – a welcoming, nurturing, intimate, safe environment – where, monthly, one can see a new exhibition installed by an array of up-and-coming and established visual artists. HTBAF will recur the last Friday of the month with a new storyteller and will be streamed live on Zoom from Open Source’s Brooklyn location. Please register in advance!
